Contemporary gilt-lined crimson morocco over marble boards, flat spine in seven compartments of gilt bands and floral motifs, gilt text on two, edges and endpapers marbled. Spine and extremities showing signs of wear. Complete with 16 plates, including engraved title, 12 finely hand-coloured aquatints of French views, two town plans, and one plate of bas-reliefs of antique ornaments. Folio. Aside from minor offsetting from plates, this scarce book is in very good condition. The plates are clean and crisp. Bookplate of Thomas Baskerfeild [sic]. P. (6), Engr. title, blank, introduction 3-4, 5-54, index of plates (2), (6). The plates are signed. Coloured plates in order: 1. Harbour of Antibes. 2. Toulon. 3. Antiquity of St. Remi. 4.
